Turbochargers

Turbochargers

Turbochargers are known as superchargers, turbos. Generally , turbocharger is a device that increases the amount of air for the internal combustion engine.

What is the purpose of the turbocharger?

The purpose of turbocharger is increasing fuel efficiency and improving the engine horsepower.

How does the Turbocharger work?

The key parts of a turbocharger are the compressor/blower, turbine and cartridge. The engine exhaust gas from exhaust manifold drives the turbo turbine, meanwhile the compressor / blower will rotate together with the turbine. The turbocharger’s compressor draws in ambient air and compresses it before it enters into the intake manifold at increased pressure. This results in a greater mass of air entering the cylinders on each intake stroke.
